Create a 3D Slide [Beta]

Learn how to create a 3D Slide, add objects to your 3D Slide, and use tools like labels, X-Ray Mode, highlights, and the compass.

Overview

A 3D Slide lets you add objects from your uploaded data to build a 3D presentation view. You choose which objects to add — topography, drillholes, 2D lines, and more — how they're styled, and what the initial slide view shows when the slide loads.

Note: This article applies to VRIFY Present Beta, which includes features not available in VRIFY Present Legacy. View legacy instructions at Building 3D Presentations.

Step by Step Instructions

Create a 3D Slide

  1. Click + Add Slide in the top-left corner.

  2. Select 3D.

  3. Select the asset you want to use on this slide.

  4. Click Continue.

The 3D slide loads with topography and property boundaries added automatically. The slide will appear in the slide panel on the left.

Note: Only files with Accepted status appear in the Asset List when building a 3D Slide. If an object is missing, check its status on the Files page. Learn more about your File Status.

Add Objects to Your 3D Slide

To add data objects to your 3D slide, click Edit 3D Slide in the top right. Two panels appear:

  • Add Objects & Files panel (top left) — all processed files and available objects for your selected asset

  • Object Settings panel (top right) — all objects currently added to the 3D slide

To add a data object to your 3D slide:

  1. In the Add Objects & Files panel, open a folder.

  2. Click the + icon next to the object you want to add.

The object appears in the Object Settings panel and loads into the 3D Slide. Repeat for each object you want to include.

💡 Tip: To centre the object on the slide, right-click the object name in the Object Settings panel and select Focus:

Show or Hide Layers

Click the eye icon next to each layer to show or hide it:

  • Grey eye with slash = layer hidden

  • White eye with no slash = layer visible

In edit mode, these icons will be beside each object in the Object Settings panel.

In view and present mode, you can access the layers using the 3D Layers list located in the lower right-hand side of the slide

Navigate in a 3D Slide

Using a mouse:

  • Rotate: Click and hold the left mouse button, then drag to spin the model.

  • Zoom: Scroll with your mouse wheel to zoom in or out.

  • Pan: Click and hold the right mouse button, then drag to move the model side-to-side or up and down.

You can also use the compass to adjust the viewpoint when you are in edit mode.

3D Slide Objects

The following data objects are available to add to a 3D Slide in VRIFY Present. To customize an object, click the object's title in the Object Settings panel to open its Properties panel.

Displays terrain across the property AOI and beyond.

Displays the property boundaries overlaid on the topography.

Displays drillhole data in 3D. Configure collars, traces, assays, lithology, and highlights, and filter drillholes by date.

Displays geochemical sample data. Create bins and adjust cylinder dimensions and lighting.

Displays geophysical raster data layered over the topography. Apply colour gradients and layer multiple surveys.

Displays block model data. Multi-partition models are consolidated into a single import panel.

2D Objects

Displays 2D Images, 2D Lines, or 2D Polygons. Add photos or PDFs as images, or add infrastructure or geology data as 2D lines.

Place 3D objects into your 3D Slide. Static objects are geo-referenced and cannot by moved (example: pit shells); other objects can be repositioned.

Displays DORA prediction outputs in the 3D viewer. Adjust prediction settings, VRIFY Prospectivity Score (VPS), target groups, and learning data.

3D Slide Tools and Features

3D slides include a set of tools and features to control how your 3D Slide looks and how viewers interact with it. Each is independent and can be used alongside any data objects in the 3D Slide.

Feature

Description

Add a text label anchored to any point in the 3D Slide.

Display a legend in the viewer explaining colour coding or symbology in your 3D Slide.

Makes objects visible even when they are positioned behind terrain or other objects in the 3D Slide.

Applies a glow effect to draw attention to a specific object in the 3D Slide.

Toggle the interactive 3D compass between small and large sizes. Compass visibility is saved per slide. The compass can be used to navigate when the slide is in Edit mode.

Display real-world distance directly on the 3D Slide.

Additional Notes

  • Add only the objects needed to support your message. Too many visible layers reduce clarity.

  • Duplicate a slide to reuse its layout and objects for similar views.

  • Object customization saves automatically. To save the initial slide view, click Save Changes in the upper right when you are finished editing.

  • Preview your 3D Slide in Present mode before sharing to confirm the initial slide view and object visibility.

  • Quickly insert a 3D Slide into another presentation by clicking on the three-dot menu on the thumbnail and select Export to another 3D Presentation
