Position and Scale a 3D Object [Beta]

Learn how to customize 3D Objects using the position, rotation, and scale tools while editing a 3D Slide.

Overview

The Object Control Tools let you move, rotate, and scale a 3D Object placed in a 3D Slide. These tools are available for any 3D Object that is not geo-referenced.

Note: This article applies to VRIFY Present Beta, which includes features not available in VRIFY Present Legacy.

Step by Step Instructions

Open the Object Control Toolbar

  1. Click on the 3D Object folder in the Add Objects & Files panel.

  2. Click on the title of the 3D Object.

This will open the Properties panel. There are three tools that allow you to move, rotate, and scale the selected object.

Position the Object

  1. Click on the Position tool icon:

  2. Use the arrows and blocks of the position tool to move the object:

To move an object along an axis:

  1. Hover over an arrow to activate it.

  2. Drag the arrow to move the marker along that axis only.

To move an object within a plane:

  1. Hover over a coloured box to activate it.

  2. Drag the box to move the marker freely within that plane.

Rotate the Object

  1. Click the rotate icon in the Object Control toolbar:

  2. Hover over the ring in the orientation you want to pivot the object:

  • Red = Tilt front to back

  • Green = Tilt side to side

  • Blue = Turn

Scale an Object

  1. Click the Scale icon in the Object Control toolbar:

  2. Click on a block to scale along a single axis:

  • Blue = Height

  • Red = Width

  • Green = Depth

💡 Tip: Click on the central block to activate all blocks and the object will scale proportionally

Additional Notes

  • Object customization saves automatically. To save the initial slide view, click Save Changes in the upper right when you are finished editing.

  • Only files with Accepted status appear in the Add Objects & Files panel when building a 3D Slide. If an object or file is missing, check its status on the Files page. Learn more in Understanding File Statuses.
