Add Drillholes to a 3D Slide [Beta]

Learn how to add drillholes to a 3D Slide and customize collars, traces, assays, lithology, and highlight intervals.

Overview

You can add drillhole data to any 3D Slide and control how each feature — collars, traces, assays, lithology, and highlights — appears in the model. Each time you import, the selected drillholes are grouped together as a single Drillhole Feature in the Object Settings panel.

You can create up to three Drillhole Feature groups per 3D Slide, which lets you customize each group independently.

Note: This article applies to VRIFY Present Beta, which includes features not available in VRIFY Present Legacy. View legacy instructions at Building 3D Presentations.

Step by Step Instructions

Add Drillholes

  1. Open the Drilling folder in the Add Objects & Files panel.

  2. Click + to view available drillholes:

  3. Select the drillholes you want to add:

    • Use Filter to narrow results by year or date range

    • Use the search bar to find a specific collar ID

    • Use Select All to include all collar IDs

    • Select individual checkboxes to choose specific IDs

  4. Click Import Drillholes:

After import, the selected drillholes appear in the Object Settings panel under Drilling as a Drillhole Feature object. Each drillhole group has five customizable sub-features: Collars, Traces, Assays, Lithology, and Highlights:

💡Tip: Only import the drillholes you need for this slide. Importing a large dataset can affect performance.

Customize Drillholes

  1. In the Object Settings panel, click Drilling

  2. Click on Drillhole Feature

  3. Select a drillhole component to open the customization panel (Collars, Traces, Assays, Lithology, and Highlight)

  4. Adjust settings in the Properties panel based on the selected component.

💡Tip: To focus the camera on the object, right-click the object name in the Object Settings panel and select Focus.

Customize Collars

Collar ID

  1. Click the text icon (T) at the top of the Properties panel.

  2. Toggle Show Collar IDs on to display collar IDs in the 3D view.

  3. Use the slider to adjust opacity.

  4. Select a font size.

  5. Customize the font colour.

Collar Symbol

Add and customize range values

The assay defaults to a single colour. Add range values to create contrast within the model.

  1. Click a colour swatch to change the range colour using the target, the slider, or entering a hex code.

  2. Click + Add to add additional range values.

  3. Use the colour gradient bar at the bottom of the panel to adjust range values.

  4. Use the eye icon to show/hide range values.

  5. Click Reset to revert to the default single range.

Customize Lithology

  2. Select the Text icon (T) to open the text panel.

    1. Toggle the border on or off.

    2. Toggle the flagpole on or off.

    3. Choose a text alignment.

    5. Customize the font, if the highlight data includes copy.

  3. Customize the highlight colour, radius, and border intensity.

Additional Notes

  • Object customization saves automatically. To save the initial slide view, click Save Changes in the upper right when you are finished editing.

  • The legend will update dynamically with each customization.

  • Use the layers icon in the lower-right corner in Present mode to show or hide layers
