Add Labels to a 3D Slide [Beta]

Learn how to place, edit, and reposition a text label in a 3D Slide in VRIFY Present.

Overview

Labels let you annotate specific points or objects in a 3D Slide with a title and body copy. Use labels to call out key features, provide context for a data layer, or guide viewers attention to a specific area.

Note: This article applies to VRIFY Present Beta, which includes features not available in VRIFY Present Legacy. View legacy instructions at Building 3D Presentations.

Step by Step Instructions

Add a Label to a 3D Slide

  1. Click the Label icon in the centre toolbar:

  2. Click on the location in the 3D Slide where you want the label to anchor:

A Label folder will appear in the list of Object Settings.

Reposition a Label

Both the anchor and the label can be repositioned

  1. Hover over the label or anchor. Click and hold the label.

  2. Drag it to the new position.

  3. Release to drop the label in place:

Note: A hand cursor icon appears when you're over a repositionable element.

Customize a Label

Click the pencil icon in the Label field to open the Properties panel. Use it to adjust the label's appearance, header, and body text.

Add/Remove the background fill of the label

Show/Hide the label flagpole

Highlight the label

Edit Label text

  1. Click the pencil icon on the label to open the Properties panel.

  1. Enter a title in the Header Title field.

  2. Enter body copy in the Body field.

Use the Font Style, Font Size, and Text Colour controls under Header and Body to adjust each independently.

Additional Notes

  • Object customization saves automatically. To save the initial slide view, click Save Changes in the upper right when you are finished editing.

  • Rotate your viewpoint to check the label's position across a variety of camera angles before saving.

  • Set a font size and colour that stay readable against the background.

  • Review labels on the smallest screen you'll use to present, typically an iPad through the VRIFY app. Labels that look correct on a large monitor can appear differently on a smaller device.

  • Labels are independent layers from the objects they're attached to. If you hide an object that has a label, you must hide the label separately in the Layers folder.
