Edit Tabular Data in VRIFY Prepare

Learn how to edit tabular data directly in the VRIFY Prepare workspace during validation, including cell-level edits and bulk find and replace.

Overview

When validating, processing, and publishing tabular data in VRIFY Prepare, you can edit data directly in the workspace rather than modifying source files. This option is available for Drilling and Surface Geochemistry data types, but not Block Models.

After completing the mapping step and running the validate and data quality check, you can review errors, correct affected rows inline, and re-run the mapping step to confirm your changes.

Step by Step Instructions

Tabular editing is available during the data quality step for Drilling and Surface Geochemistry data types only.

  1. Complete the mapping step for your data.

  2. Run the validate and data quality checks.

  3. When complete, open Data Quality in the right sidebar to view a list of errors.

  4. Click an error message to filter and highlight the affected rows in the workspace.

  5. Click into a cell to edit it directly.

  6. Click Save.

  7. To make bulk changes, select Find and Replace and apply your edits.

    • You can select specific rows or columns using the filters:

      Click Find and replace at the top of the table to open the filter

  8. Re-run the mapping step to confirm your changes.

Additional Notes

  • Find and Replace is useful when the same value appears across many rows — for example, correcting a unit label or standardizing a column entry applied to the entire dataset.
