Validate and Publish Block Models

Learn how to validate and process Block Model data in VRIFY Prepare so it is available for use in VRIFY Present.

Overview

Before Block Model data can be added to a 3D Slide in VRIFY Present, it must first pass validation and data quality checks in VRIFY Prepare.

Block Model data is organised into three subfolders. Resources and Reserves require two additional steps: setting parameters and mapping fields. You will use the Parameters step to define your model configuration, then use the Field Mapper to match the columns in your CSV file to the required fields. Grade Shells follow a different workflow and do not require parameters or field mapping. Once all steps are complete, you publish the file for final processing.

Prepare and Upload Data

Tabular data includes required and recommended fields — see Block Models: Required & Recommended Fields before uploading.

Upload and sort your files into the correct subfolders in Files before starting this workflow. See Upload Files to VRIFY.

Step by Step Instructions

Resources and Reserves

  1. Select Surface Geochemistry from the left sidebar.

  2. Drag the file into the workspace.

  3. VRIFY Prepare automatically adds a Parameters step, a Field Mapper step, and a Data Quality step to the workspace.

Set Parameters

  1. Click the Parameters step to open the Step Details panel.

  2. Enter the following required information under Basic Information:

    • Model Name

    • SRID (Spatial Reference System Identifier)

  3. Enter the following under Model Orientation:

    • Azimuth

    • Block Reference Point — select either Cell Corner or Cell Centre.

  4. Open Block Dimensions and enter X, Y, Z sizes.

  5. If needed, enter an Anchor Point. This field is optional.

  6. Click Save Parameters.

Map Fields

  1. Click the Field Mapper step to open the Step Details panel.

  2. Map the following required fields to the corresponding columns in your CSV:

    • X (Easting)

    • Y (Northing)

    • Z (Elevation Meters)

  3. To map the Block Type column, click Additional Columns and map the Block Type field.

  4. Click Map Variables and map at least one column. You can add a variable description and unit.

  5. Click Done to close the Map Variables modal.

  6. To save your field mapping as a template for other data files, click Presets, enter a name, and save.

  7. Click Map.

Review Results and Submit

  1. Once the Field Mapper step shows Succeeded, click the step to confirm the results.

  2. If issues are found, click the issue to filter the CSV preview in the workspace to only view the affected rows. Fix the data in your preferred software, re-upload the file, and repeat the mapping steps before submitting.

  3. Click the Data Quality step to open the Step Details panel.

  4. If no issues are found, or only non-breaking issues are present, click Submit All Files.

    • Note: If you are updating existing Block Model data, a prompt will appear asking whether you want to update or replace the existing data. Updating is recommended. Use replace with caution, as it will overwrite your existing data.

Confirm Data is Available in VRIFY Present

  1. After publishing, most files are available within an hour. Block Model processing can take up to an hour or longer for large files. Files that require review by a VRIFY team member will show a status of Action(s) Required. See Understanding File Statuses.

  2. Once the file status shows Accepted, open a 3D Slide in edit mode in VRIFY Present and open the Add Objects & Assets panel. The data will appear under the corresponding folder.
