Set up Your New iPad to Use the VRIFY App

Set up your iPad to optimize your experience using the VRIFY app.

Overview

Follow the steps in this article to get your iPad set up for use with VRIFY. You’ll also find tips on recommended iPad settings and accessories to help ensure a smooth experience and set you up for success when presenting with VRIFY:

Step by Step Instructions

Turn on your iPad

  1. Press and hold the top button until the Apple logo appears.

Sign In With or Create an Apple ID

  1. An Apple ID is required to download apps from the Apple App Store, including the VRIFY app.

    • If you already have an Apple ID, skip to the next step.

    • If you don't have an Apple ID, create one here before continuing.

  2. We recommend you use a real shared company email address to create your Apple ID (such as info@companyname.com).

Download the VRIFY App

  1. Sign in with your Apple ID

  2. Open the App Store

    • Locate and tap the App Store icon on your iPad's home screen. Sign in with your Apple ID if prompted.

  3. Search for VRIFY

    • In the search bar, type VRIFY.

  4. Download the VRIFY App

    • Tap Get to begin downloading the app.

  5. Open the VRIFY App

    • Once the download is complete, tap Open.

  6. Log In to VRIFY

Recommended iPad Settings

Lock all iPad screens in the landscape orientation.

  • Swipe down from the upper right corner of any screen on an iOS device to access Control Center to lock the screen orientation.

💡Tip: When presenting from a podium, turn off screen lock on your iPad. Depending on where the HDMI adapter connects, you may need to flip your device. Keeping screen rotation unlocked ensures your iPad display adjusts automatically, making it easier to present.

Lower the brightness on the host iPad to conserve battery.

  • Swipe down from the upper right corner of any screen on an iOS device to access the Control Center to adjust the brightness.

Set the Auto-Lock setting to 'Never' to prevent devices from going to sleep during a presentation.

  • This is particularly important for when presenting at conference booths.

    • To do this, go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Make sure Auto-Lock is set to Never.

Set the password for all your iPads to be the same.

  • Having a generic company password for your iPads will prevent confusion and difficulty accessing your devices.

    • To set or update your iPad password on each device, go to Settings, then depending on your iPad model, tap either Face ID & Passcode or Touch ID & Passcode.

Adjust Display Settings

  • For ideal colour accuracy when presenting, turn off the True Tone and Night Shift settings. To update:

    • True Tone, go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Toggle off True Tone

    • Night Shift, go to Settings > Display & Brightness > ensure Night Shift is set to OFF

Turn off Windowed Apps setting and turn on Full Screen Apps (for iOS 26)

  • iOS 26 uses a default Windowed Apps setting that lets you resize and move multiple windows. This can cause distractions during presentations, so we recommend switching to Full Screen Apps.

Recommended iPad Accessories

    • Using an iPad Case will prolong the life of your device. Cases protect against drops, scratches, and debris, and are recommended since iPads are brought on-site and will get a high amount of use over time.

  • HDMI adapter/dongle (compatible with your iPad): We recommend the StarTech USB-C to HDMI adapter. An adapter is needed to plug into a screen on stage. Newer iPads and iPad pros will require a USB-C adapter.
