Delete or Hide a Label in Deck Editor

Learn how to hide or delete Labels from 3D Slides.

Updated over a week ago

Overview

Since you can now create your own Labels on 3D Slides within the Layers of your 3D Models, there will be times you may need to hide or delete Labels to achieve your intended outcomes.

Hiding a Label allows you to temporarily disable the Label within the Layer of the 3D Model for reuse at a later time or in a different slide, whereas deleting a Label removes the Layer from the 3D Model across all Slides and Decks that use the 3D Model. You may need to delete a Label in order to recreate it nested under the intended Layer, or simply no longer have a use for it.

While some aspects of Labels will continue to be managed by the VRIFY team, creating, editing, and hiding/deleting your own Labels will allow you to make quick and easy changes to your 3D Model Labels.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow the steps below to locate the Text Layer you want to hide or delete. Steps 1-7 are the same for both hiding and deleting Labels, then there are steps specific to hiding or deleting a Label after Step 7.

  1. Log in to VRIFY.com.

  2. Click Admin from the top menu.

  3. Locate and select the Deck you want to edit.

  4. Click on the 3D Slide you want to add a Label to:

  5. On the top right corner of the screen, click Edit Slide:

    1. You will see a list of 3D Layers available to you on the right hand side of your screen called the 3D Layers list. This is where you can manage your Text Layers.

  6. Next, you can hide or delete the Label by following the steps below.

Hide a Label

  1. Select the Layers you want to Show/Hide by clicking the corresponding eye icon. The slide preview will reflect the selected or deselected Layers:

    1. The grey eye icon with a slash through it indicates the Text Layer will be hidden.

    2. The white eye icon with no slash through it indicates the Text Layer will be visible.

  2. Click Save or Save As to save your changes.

Delete a Label

  1. From the 3D Layers list on the right side of your screen, locate the Text Layer you want to delete. From there, there are multiple ways to delete a Label:

    1. Right-click the Layer from the 3D Layers list and click Delete:

    2. Click on the Layer from the 3D Layers list and hit Delete on your keyboard

  2. Click Save or Save As to save your changes.

Best Practices

  • Any Label that you add to or delete from a 3D Model will apply to any other slides across all other Decks that use the 3D model you're adding/deleting the Label from.

  • By default, Labels are created with a flagpole to visually indicate what area of the 3D Model the Label is associated with. If you want to keep your Label but just remove the flagpole, click on the Label and then click the Label icon next to the font size menu. You will see the flagpole toggle off:

  • If you hide a layer in the 3D Model editor screen, the Labels nested under that Layer will remain unless you also hide the Text Layer(s). To hide a Layer as well as a Label on the slide you are editing, click on the corresponding Layer's eye icon. The slide preview will reflect the selected or deselected layers so you can check that you clicked on the relevant Layer(s).
