Validate and Publish Infrastructure Data

Learn how to validate and publish Infrastructure data in VRIFY Prepare so it is available for use in VRIFY Present.

Overview

Before Infrastructure data can be added to a 3D Slide in VRIFY Present, it must first be validated in VRIFY Prepare.

Infrastructure data is organized into four subfolders, each with its own workflow. Processing Plants, Pits, and Underground Workings follow a 3D workflow with Confirm Tag, Validate, and Publish steps. Validation includes converting the file. The Infrastructure subfolder follows a simpler workflow with Validate and Publish steps.

Prepare and Upload Data

Upload and sort your files into the correct subfolders in Files before starting this workflow. See Upload Files to VRIFY.

Step by Step Instructions

Processing Plants, Pits, and Underground Workings

  1. Select Infrastructure from the left sidebar.

  2. Drag the file into the workspace.

    • Note: VRIFY Prepare automatically adds Confirm Tag, Validate, and Publish steps to the workspace.

  3. Click the Confirm Tag step to open the Step Details sidebar on the right.

  4. Confirm the tag is correct for your file type.

    • Note: The tag is pre-populated based on the subfolder you uploaded to.

  5. Click the Validate step to open the right sidebar.

  6. Click Validate.

    • Note: Validation starts immediately. It checks the file and converts it to a usable format. Review the results in this step when validation is complete.

Publish Files

  1. If no issues are found, or only non-blocking issues are present, click the Publish step, then click Publish file. See Understanding Error Messages in VRIFY Prepare

    • Note: If issues are found, correct the data and re-upload the file through the Files uploader before publishing.

Confirm Data is Available in VRIFY Present

  1. After publishing, 3D files up to 2GB will be automatically processed and can take an hour or more to complete. Files larger than 2GB are routed to the VRIFY team for manual processing and will show a status of Action(s) Required. See Understanding File Statuses.

  2. Once the file status shows Accepted, open a 3D Slide in edit mode in VRIFY Present and open the Add Objects & Assets panel. The data will appear under the corresponding folder.

Infrastructure

  1. Select Infrastructure from the left sidebar.

  2. Drag the file into the workspace.

    • Note: VRIFY Prepare automatically adds Validate and Publish steps to the workspace.

  3. Click the Validate step to open the right sidebar.

  4. Click Validate.

    • Note: Validation starts immediately. Review the results in this step when validation is complete.

Publish Files

  1. If no issues are found, or only non-blocking issues are present, click the Publish step, then click Publish file. See Understanding Error Messages in VRIFY Prepare

    • Note: If issues are found, correct the data and re-upload the file through the Files uploader before publishing.

Confirm Data is Available in VRIFY Present

  1. After publishing, most files are available immediately with a status of Accepted. Large files can take an hour or more. See Understanding File Statuses.

  2. Once the file status shows Accepted, open a 3D Slide in edit mode in VRIFY Present and open the Add Objects & Assets panel. The Infrastructure data will appear under the corresponding folder.
