Overview
Scale bars display real-world distance directly on your 3D Slide topography.
Distance is calculated from latitude and longitude coordinates, so the scale bar reflects accurate on-ground measurements at the displayed location.

Step by Step Instructions
Add a Scale Bar
Open the Add Objects & Files panel on the left side of the screen.
Expand Graphics to access the Scale Bar or Depth Ruler (a vertical subsurface scale).
Click the + icon to add it to the slide.
After adding to the slide, the Scale object will appear in the Object Settings panel.
Customize a Scale Bar
Open the Graphics folder in the Object Settings panel on the right side of the screen.
Click the Scale Bar name to open the Properties panel:
Adjust any of the following settings:
Unit System: Toggle between metric and imperial units.
Length Preset: Select a preset length using the slider or choose Custom to enter your own value.
Base Colour: Change the colour.
Height Offset: Move the scale bar vertically on the slide.
Rotation: Rotate the scale bar by degrees to adjust its orientation.
You can also drag the scale bar to a location, it will turn oranges when you hover over it, click and drag it in the slide to drop it in a new location.
Customize a Depth Ruler
Open the Graphics folder in the Object Settings panel on the right side of the screen.
Click the Depth Ruler to open the Properties panel.
Adjust any of the following settings:
Unit System: Toggle between metric and imperial units.
Minimum Increment: Select the smallest increment ticker on the ruler.
Depth: Enter the maximum depth of the ruler (m or ft).
Line Colour: Change the colour using the colour picker, slider, or entering a hex code.
Show Depth Scale: Show or hide numeric values.
The depth ruler's labels stay legible as you rotate or move around the scene. Intervals also adjust automatically as you zoom.
💡 Tip: To centre the object on the slide right-click the object name in the Object Settings panel and select Focus.
Additional Notes
Multiple Scale Bars and Depth Rulers can be added to a slide and customized individually.
Select Revert changes at the bottom of the panel to discard any unsaved modifications and restore your previous settings.
Object customization saves automatically. To save your initial slide view, click Save Changes in the upper right when you are finished editing.
