Overview
When creating a 3D Presentation, you will be prompted to set the General Access level as part of the creation process. This can be updated at any time as your presentation moves from private collaboration to broader sharing.
Access to a VRIFY 3D Presentation is controlled by two settings:
General Access - determines who can open the presentation
User Roles - determine what those users can do after opening it
These settings work together to control who can view or edit a presentation. For example, a presentation may allow Anyone with the link to open it, but only Editors and Owners can make changes.
How you share a presentation depends on its access level:
Confidential presentations are shared by inviting users from the Share modal
Public presentations can be shared by sending the presentation link

General Access Levels
The General Access level determines who can open a presentation. You can view the current access level in the top-right corner of a 3D Presentation and in the Access column on the 3D Presentations page. Hovering over the access level will display whether the presentation is Confidential or Public.
There are three access levels:
General Access Level | Who Can Open the Presentation | Use Case |
Confidential Access Requires log in to VRIFY |
|
|
| Only users listed under People with Access can open the presentation | Confidential content, controlled collaboration |
| All VRIFY users in your company | Internal sharing and team review |
Public No log in required |
|
|
| Anyone with the link can open it without logging in | Public sharing, embeds, investor or marketing presentations |
Note: Confidential 3D Presentations require users to log in to VRIFY before they can be opened. To grant access to external collaborators, invite them from the Share modal. Learn more in Manage Access and Roles in a 3D Presentation.
User Roles
Each invited user is assigned one of the following roles that determine what they can do in the presentation.
Owner: Can edit the presentation, manage roles and General Access levels, and manage access requests
Editor: Can edit the presentation and manage roles and General Access levels
Viewer: Can view the presentation
To edit a 3D Presentation, a user must:
Be an Editor or Owner, and
Have Present access on their VRIFY user account
A Company Admin can review or update Present access. Learn more about VRIFY User Permissions.
How General Access Levels and Roles Work Together
General Access determines who can open the presentation. Roles determine what they can do after opening it.
For example:
A presentation may allow Anyone with the link to view it
Only Editors and Owners can make changes
Note: Users listed under People with Access keep their assigned role even if the General Access level changes.
Ways to Share a 3D Presentation
There are two ways to share a presentation.
Share the 3D Presentation link
Click Copy Link in the Share modal to send a view-only link
Important: The person must still meet the General Access requirements if the presentation is confidential.
Invite a user
Owners can invite users from the Share modal
When inviting someone, you also assign them a role such as Viewer or Editor
Inviting a user gives them direct access to the 3D Presentation. After logging in, it will appear in their 3D Presentations list
What Happens When Someone Opens a 3D Presentation Link
When someone opens a view-only 3D Presentation link, VRIFY checks the presentation’s General Access level and the user’s permissions.
Depending on the configuration, one of the following will happen:
The 3D Presentation opens immediately
The General Access is set to Anyone with the link, or
The user is logged in to VRIFY and has permission to view the presentation
The user is prompted to log in
General Access is set to Only people invited or Everyone at your company, and
The user is not currently logged in to VRIFY.com
After logging in, VRIFY checks whether the user has permission to view the presentation.
The user is prompted to request access
If the user is logged in but does not have access to the presentation, they can request access.
The Owner will receive an email to review the request and approve or deny access.
