Block Models: Required & Recommended Fields

Learn which fields VRIFY accepts for block model CSV uploads, including required and recommended fields for parameters and data.

Overview

This guide lists every field VRIFY accepts across the block model CSVs: Block Model Parameters and Block Model Data.

Fields are split into two tiers:

  • Required: Core attributes VRIFY needs to validate, transform, and render your block model in 3D.

  • Recommended: Additional attributes that unlock spatial filtering, richer presentation tools, and compatibility with new features as they roll out.

Following these guidelines ensures smooth processing in VRIFY Explore and accurate 3D modelling in 3D Slides.

Note: Upload your block model as two CSVs, Block Model Parameters (grid definition) and Block Model Data (block values). Both files are required, one without the other can't be rendered.

Indicates whether the origin of the model is the corner or the center of the first block.

Parent Block Size X (m or ft)

Parent block dimension in X, in metres or feet.

Parent Block Size Y (m or ft)

Parent block dimension in Y, in metres or feet.

Parent Block Size Z (m or ft)

Parent block dimension in Z, in metres or feet.

Rotation (Azimuth)

Rotation of the block model grid, in degrees azimuth.

Name of the block model — use file name if no block model name present.

Notes

  • If you have more than one Block Model you can enter the Parameter Details for each one into a single .csv file, ensuring the Block Model Name accurately matches the actual Block Model files. Otherwise provide the Parameters for each Block Model as separate .csv files and upload via the File Uploader.

  • If you are using the Prepare processing tool, you can fill the Parameter Details via the form for each associated Block Model Data.

  • Block Reference Point: Are the block coordinates provided in the related Details file the corners or centres of each block:

    Example of setting block model coordinates at the corner or center of the model.
  • Only use one set of X, Y, Z columns for the min/max coordinates.

  • The default for Rotation is "0".

  • Add attribute columns (e.g. grade, tonnage, classification, etc.) alongside the required fields.

  • Include as many attribute columns as needed.
