Overview
In this step, you select the deposit type that best reflects your exploration target.
Each deposit type corresponds to a deep learning model trained on large datasets from a specific mineral system. Selecting the appropriate deposit type ensures the model applies relevant geological context to your data.
Why This Step Matters
Geoscience Perspective
Choosing the correct deposit type ensures the model is grounded in a mineral system similar to your target. This helps isolate geological patterns that may not be immediately visible in raw data.
AI Perspective
The selected model has already been trained on large datasets and adapts to your AOI using your input features and learning data. This allows DORA to generate predictions that reflect both global mineral system knowledge and your local dataset.
Step by Step Instructions
The steps below walk you through selecting a foundation model that matches your target deposit type and applying it to your experiment.

Select a Deposit Type
Select the model that best matches your target mineral system.
Depending on your project, you may want to choose:
Deposit Agnostic if you are unsure of the mineral system classification, want to avoid bias toward a specific deposit type, or have limited learning data. This model is trained across multiple deposit types.
Custom Model if your project does not fit standard deposit models. This model is trained only on your data and is well suited to unique geology or deposit types not covered by the existing models.
The latest version of our foundation models is Version 3. To access Version 2 models to compare results, select More Options.
