Upload a New Area of Interest (AOI) to DORA

Learn the steps to upload your own AOI into a DORA Prediction Map.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Overview

You can upload new AOI files directly into the Prediction Map workflow. Follow the steps below to learn how.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Prepare AOI Files

  1. Create a Polygon Shapefile.

    • Use QGIS or another GIS program to create the shapefile.

  2. Prepare Files for Upload

    • Ensure you have all four required file types (.shp, .shx, .dbf, .prj).

    • Additional files (like .cpg or .qmd) are optional and can be included if available.

Upload into DORA

  1. Open a Prediction Map

    • Open the Prediction Map you want to upload a new AOI to.

    • You can be on any step, but this action applies specifically to Step 1: Select Area of Interest. If you upload a new AOI later in the workflow, return to Step 1 to apply it to the experiment.

  2. Upload AOI files

    • Drag and drop all four required files into the Prediction Map UI.

    • If a file is missing, an error will appear.

  3. Select File from Drop-Down

    • Your new AOI will be available in the AOI drop-down menu.

    • Note that it can take several minutes to upload. You may need to refresh the screen if you don’t see the new file reflected in the drop-down.

    • Select the new file, then continue with Step 1: Select Area of Interest (AOI).

Notes

  • Required files:

    • .shp

    • .shx
